Born on 11th February 2001 and hailing from the Republic of Ireland, Adam Idah has established himself as a formidable force within the Celtic Football Club. A forward who almost borders on poacher, he wears the symbolic number 9 jersey with pride. Towering over many at 6ft 2in (1.9m) and with a solid stature weighing in at 13st (83kg), Idah makes his presence felt on the pitch. Amongst his accolades, he has had the honour of representing the Republic of Ireland's national team.
According to Transfermarkt, Idah’s current market value is set around the mark of €5.50m, translating roughly to £4.7m. In terms of contractual commitments with Celtic, he's got four years and two months left to run, and is set to continue his journey with the club until 30th June 2029.
Idah's journey into professional football saw its genesis in July 2017, championing his career at Norwich City in England as a trainee. It was on this stage where Idah first flaunted his talents, with 12 first team appearances in his debut season of 2019-2020. He clearly demonstrated his evolving skills over the coming seasons, culminating in 28 appearances and half a dozen goals racked up in the 2023-2024 season at Norwich City.
In February 2024, he transferred on loan to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, hinting at the crucial role he would later play in the Hoops' line up. Throughout his initial season at Celtic, he made a hefty 15 appearances and notched up 8 goals. He returned to Norwich City in July 2024, but soon after, an £8.5m move saw him trade Norwich’s colours for Celtic's in August 2024.
In the current 2024-2025 season with Celtic, Idah has tallied up an impressive 33 appearances and 12 goals. Celtic's green and white certainly seem to bring out the best in him.
Box-like statistics, however, can only paint part of the picture. Idah's quality is best seen in action, with memorable performances that have embedded him in Celtic's ethos. Be it his integral contributions in the League Cup, the Scottish Cup, or even the grand stage of the Champions League, he's proven his worth time and again. He's also maintained his national pride, with notable performances in the Euro Qualifiers and the Nations League for the Republic of Ireland. To merely term Adam Idah as a 'striker for Celtic' would be a secular understatement; he is an unwavering pillar of the Celtic Football Club.
