Alex Gogic, born on 13 April 1994 in Cyprus, plies his trade as a stalwart central defender for St Mirren. Standing at 6ft (1.85m) and weighing approximately 13st (83kg), he dons the no. 13 jersey, a number he also brandished whilst on international duty for Cyprus.
His footballing journey steered him from the sunny climes of Greece, playing for Olympiacos, to the somewhat more temperate Championship in England when he transferred to Swansea City in July 2013.
Upon finding his feet in the UK, Gogic upped sticks and moved north of the border to Scotland's League One side Hamilton Academical in February 2017. His debut season at Hamilton saw him make a commendable seven first team appearances, followed by a more convincing 18 appearances and a maiden goal in the subsequent season. As Gogic found his rhythm, he featured 16 times during the 2018-2019 season, and emerged as a key player in the 2019-20 season with 29 appearances and another goal under his belt.
In July 2020, Gogic continued his journey through Scottish football, transferring to Hibernian who compete in the Premiership. In his first season at Hibs, he clocked up an impressive 34 appearances along with a solitary goal. The subsequent season saw his appearances dwindle somewhat to nine, but did not interrupt his momentum.
January 2022 marked a fresh chapter for Gogic, as he traded Hibernian for St Mirren on a loan. This inaugural season at St Mirren saw him make 13 appearances and score a goal. More recent seasons (2022-2025) establish Gogic as a robust feature of St Mirren, with a whopping 104 appearances and a total of five goals. In the current season (2025-26), Gogic has already made 13 appearances, underscoring his vital role in the line-up.
Gogic decided to make St Mirren his permanent home in August 2022 when he transferred from Hibernian in the Premiership. Since then, he has contributed massively in the following seasons (2022 - 2025) with a remarkable 104 appearances and a total of five goals. As of the current season (2025-26), he's already carved out 13 appearances.
In the midst of club responsibilities, Gogic has showcased his talent on an international level. He had a strong presence in the League Cup 2025-26 for St Mirren, scoring one goal in seven starts. Additionally, he represented Cyprus in the Euro Qualifiers 2022-24, with seven starts and one substitute appearance, as well as in the Nations League 2024-25, with two starts.
