Alex Gogic, born on April 13, 1994 in Cyprus, is currently a 31-year-old central defender playing for St Mirren. He stands at 6ft (1.85m) and weighs about 13st (83kg). A number 13, true to his jersey, Gogic has had the honour of playing for the Cyprus national team.
In a move beyond his native shores, Alex Gogic took up a contract with Swansea City. The move materialised in July 2013 when he transferred from Olympiacos in the Super League in Greece. However, it wasn't till February 2017 that the lad found himself veering northwards. Gogic traded Swansea City in the Championship in England for Hamilton Academical in the Championship in Scotland.
Interestingly, his debut season, 2016 - 2017 at Hamilton Academical saw him making seven first-team appearances in league matches. The subsequent season, 2017 - 2018 found him not only making 18 first team appearances, but netting one goal too. His stay with Hamilton in season 2018 - 2019 and 2019 - 2020 also recorded 16 and 29 first team appearances respectively, with the latter season delivering another goal.
Alex Gogic then transferred from Hamilton Academical in the Championship to another Scottish side, Hibernian, in the Premiership in July 2020. During the 2020 - 2021 season at Hibernian, Gogic made quite the appearance, tallying 34 first team appearances, adding another goal to his career record. In season 2021 - 2022 at Hibernian, he'd made nine first team appearances in league matches.
Then saw a loan move to St Mirren in the Premiership in January 2022. His time with St Mirren moulded his journey quite a bit. His first season alone, 2021 - 2022, scored 13 first team appearances and his first goal with the side. His subsequent seasons, 2022 - 2023, 2023 - 2024 and the current 2024 - 2025, saw him accumulating a total of 101 first team appearances and five goals.
August 2022 marked the end of Gogic's loan spell and his transfer from Hibernian to St Mirren was cemented. He continued to impress with 13 first team appearances in the first season alone. The following seasons; 2022 - 2023, 2023 - 2024 and the current 2024 - 2025, saw him continue his participation making a total of 101 appearances, scoring five goals.
Not restricted to just league appearances, Gogic had a noteworthy participation in several cups and qualifiers too. These included the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren with one start, Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren with two starts, Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024 for Cyprus with seven starts and one appearance as a substitute, Nations League 2024 - 2025 for Cyprus with two starts, and Conference League Qualifiers 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren with four starts.
