Anatoliy Trubin, born on 1 August 2001 (age 25), is a Ukrainian goalkeeper with the sort of frame clubs tend to notice before anything else. At 6ft 6in (1.99m), he is an imposing presence, though his career has been shaped less by raw size than by the workload he has taken on at Benfica.
He came through at Shakhtar Donetsk and made an early league appearance in the 2018-2019 season, but that was only the start of the route rather than the main story. His move to Benfica gave his career its proper scale, and he has since made 92 league appearances across four seasons for the Lisbon club.
In 2026-2027, Trubin has made two appearances in Europa League qualifying and one in the Europa League for Benfica. At international level, he has also been busy for Ukraine, with seven appearances in European World Cup qualifying and one in the Nations League.
Trubinβs career is still developing, but Benfica has already become the substantial part of it. Shakhtar gave him the platform; Benfica has given him the regular senior football that now frames his profile.
