Andreas Schjelderup, born on 1 June 2004 (age 22), is a Norwegian left winger with Benfica, wearing squad number 21. His senior career, though, has been shaped most clearly in Denmark with FC Nordsjaelland, where he made 81 league appearances and scored 26 league goals across four seasons.
Nordsjaelland gave him the platform and the minutes that mattered. His strongest league campaign came in 2022-2023, when he scored 10 times in 17 appearances, a return that pushed him beyond the usual category of promising teenager and into more serious attention. The loan spell back in that environment helped reinforce the same point: his development has been tied heavily to regular football there, rather than to a neat rise through a single elite-club pathway.
At Benfica in 2026-2027, Schjelderup remains involved in the first-team picture rather than drifting around the margins. He has made 12 appearances in all competitions and scored twice, including seven Liga Portugal appearances with one goal, four in Europa League qualifying with one goal, and one in the Europa League proper.
He has also been active for Norway this season, with appearances across World Cup, World Cup qualifying and Nations League fixtures. His career is still developing, but its shape is already clear enough: Nordsjaelland provided the defining football so far, while Benfica are now testing how much of that promise carries into a larger, less forgiving setting.
