His journey soon led him to the shores of Italy, transferring to Sampdoria in Serie B in August 2017. A year later, however, Mikulić returned to Croatia signing for Hajduk Split in the HNL. This tenure included another loan spell, this time at Slaven Belupo, in August 2019.
Mikulić resurfaced in Italy again in August 2021, this time signing for Messina in the Seconda Divisione Girone B. This was a temporary stay, and in February 2022, he made his move to Auda in the Virsliga in Latvia. After a couple of years, Mikulić found himself at Partizani Tirana in the Kategoria Superiore in Albania in February 2024.
His nomadic journey eventually led him to Scotland. Mikulić signed for St Johnstone in the Premiership in October 2024.
