Brad Lyons, born 26 May 1997, is a midfielder hailing from Northern Ireland. At twenty-eight years old, Lyons primarily operates as a central midfielder for Kilmarnock. Standing at 6 feet (1.83m) tall and weighing at 11st 13lb (76kg), Lyons is an imposing figure on the pitch. Wearing the number 8 jersey, he has also had the honour of representing the Northern Ireland national team throughout his career.
Lyons' football journey embarked in July 2014 when he joined the Premiership side Coleraine as a trainee in his native Northern Ireland. His first season, 2014-2015 saw Lyons making 11 appearances for the first team and scoring twice in league matches. In the following seasons, Lyons consolidated his stability and built upon his performances year after year. He played 30 times and scored 4 goals in the 2015-2016 season, 24 times and scored 5 goals in the 2016-2017 season and made 17 appearances and scored three goals for the 2017-2018 season.
Following his stint at Coleraine, Lyons transferred to Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship initially on a loan deal in September 2018 before making the move permanent for an undisclosed fee in January 2019.
Seeking more game time, Lyons found himself on loan again, transferring to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership in January 2019. Here he established himself in the first team making 15 appearances and netting one goal in league matches for the 2018-2019 season.
Returning to Blackburn Rovers in June 2019 upon the completion of his loan deal, Lyons once again hit the road in search of football action, joining Morecambe in the National League on loan in January 2021.
Finally, in July 2021, Lyons transferred permanently to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership where he continues to ply his trade. With Kilmarnock, Lyons has made an increasing number of appearances with each passing season, culminating in a productive 2024 - 2025 season where he made 31 appearances and scored one goal in league matches. Furthermore, in the current 2025 - 2026 season, Lyons has already featured in three league matches.
In his time at Kilmarnock, Lyons has actively participated in several tournaments including the 2025 - 2026 League Cup, marking one goal in three starts and one appearance as a substitute. He also made a start in the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025. Moreover, on the international stage, he started in the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024 for Northern Ireland and made two substitute appearances in the Nations League 2024 - 2025.
