Chris Hamilton, born on 13 July 2001 (age 24), is a Scottish central defensive midfielder whose senior career has been shaped far more by Dunfermline Athletic than by any passing stop along the way.
Early loan football gave him the sort of first-team grounding young midfielders generally need, though it is at Dunfermline that his career has properly settled. He has become a regular presence rather than a fringe name, with 110 league appearances and three league goals across four seasons.
His most productive league campaign came in 2023-24, when he scored twice in 32 appearances. By 2025-26 he remained firmly involved, making 23 Championship appearances, along with outings in the League Cup, Scottish Cup and Premiership play-offs. Across all competitions that season, he has made 30 appearances without scoring.
Hamilton’s current form has been steady if unspectacular, which is not a bad description for much of his role. He is not there to decorate games. He has become a consistent first-team player for Dunfermline, with his career to this point defined by regular work in their midfield.
