Claudio Echeverri, born on 2 January 2006 (age 20), is a compact Argentinian attacking midfielder now with Benfica. At 5ft 7in (1.71m), he is not built to dominate physically, so his game is naturally framed around movement, touch and finding space between the lines.
His clearest senior progress came at River Plate, where the 2024 league campaign brought two goals in 20 appearances. That remains his most productive league season so far, a modest return but a useful marker for a player still early in his professional career.
At Benfica in 2026-27, Echeverri has made one Liga Portugal appearance. He has also represented Argentina this season, scoring once in a Club World Cup outing.
His career is still at an early stage: River Plate gave him his first proper platform, Benfica is his current club, and his profile remains that of a young attacking midfielder with time still to define exactly where he fits.
