David Strelec, born 4 April 2001 (age 25), is a Slovak international striker with Middlesbrough. His market value is around £7m, according to Transfermarkt.
Strelec came through at Slovan Bratislava, with an early loan at Petržalka giving him senior football before he settled back into Slovan’s first-team picture. His strongest league return came in 2020–21, when he scored nine goals in 25 league appearances.
He later moved abroad with Spezia, and a loan spell at Reggina followed before his career eventually took him to Middlesbrough. In 2026–27 he has made seven appearances for Middlesbrough across the Championship, League Cup and Championship play-offs.
Internationally, he has remained involved with Slovakia. This season he has played seven World Cup qualifiers, scoring twice, and has also made two Nations League appearances.
Strelec’s career has so far run from Slovan’s system, through loan moves and Italy, to Middlesbrough. At 25, he is an established senior striker still trying to put together a steadier club run.
