Deniss Meļņiks (born 7 September 2002, age 24) is a Latvian central defender with Falkirk, where he wears the No 21 shirt. At 6ft 3in (1.90m), he is an imposing presence, which is no small advantage in the job he does.
His career has been shaped above all by Auda. Across four seasons there, Meļņiks made 91 league appearances and scored nine league goals, a solid return for a centre-half. His most productive campaign came in 2024, when he scored five times in 27 league appearances.
At Falkirk in 2026-27, he has made six league appearances and three more in the League Cup, giving him nine appearances in all competitions. He has also been involved with Latvia, playing five times in European World Cup qualifying and twice in the Nations League.
Meļņiks’ career to date is straightforward enough: a tall Latvian defender whose main body of work came at Auda, now adding a Falkirk spell while staying in the national-team picture.
