Dodi Lukébakio, born on 24 September 1997 (age 29), is a Belgian forward with Benfica. He came through at Anderlecht, but the early shape of his career was formed as much by loans as by his parent club. Spells away from Brussels gave him senior football before he had fully settled into one role, and that has rather followed him since.
His move into the wider European market came through Watford, though it was a loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf that did most to sharpen his profile. He found regular football in Germany and showed enough pace and directness to earn a permanent move to Hertha BSC.
Hertha brought the most productive league season of his career. In 2022-23 he scored 11 goals in 32 league appearances, a respectable return in a side where attacking players were not exactly being carried along by a machine. That spell led on to Sevilla, and then to Benfica.
In 2026-27, Lukébakio has made nine appearances for Benfica in all competitions, scoring twice, with both goals coming in European fixtures. He has also remained involved with Belgium, appearing in the World Cup, World Cup qualifiers and Nations League this season, with one Nations League goal.
His career has been that of a mobile Belgian forward who developed through loans, found his clearest league return in Germany, and is now trying to make his mark at Benfica while staying in the international picture.
