Estrela Amadora are one of Portugal’s older football names, founded in 1932 and based at the Estádio José Gomes. Their squad was valued at around £18m by Transfermarkt, with 33 players and an average age of 25.
Their 2026-27 league campaign left a fairly clear profile. At home they averaged 1.2 goals scored and 1.4 conceded per match, while away from home the defensive numbers were looser, with 1.9 goals conceded per away match. They were capable of starting sharply, scoring the first goal inside 20 minutes in six of 11 league matches.
Jovane Cabral led their scoring with seven goals, followed by Kikas on six, with Sidny Cabral and Abraham Marcus on five each. Rodrigo Pinho added four, giving them a spread of contributors rather than a single dominant source.
Their closing league form was uneven: a 2-2 draw away to SC Braga and a 0-0 draw with Famalicao followed defeats to Moreirense, Porto, Arouca and Sporting CP. For Celtic supporters, Estrela Amadora read as a settled Portuguese opponent with some early attacking threat, but clear defensive vulnerability away from home.
