Findlay Curtis, some bit of a young wisenheimer, was squeezed out on the 1st of October, 2006, right here within the rain-sodden borders of Scotland. A spry lad of 18 summers, he finds employment raking the boots through the muck and chasing the inflated pig's bladder - primarily as a left winger, mind you - for a small outfit known as Rangers. Measuring a mighty 5 feet 10 inches (or 1.8 metres if you're one for the Continent's fancies), he's not exactly the towering sort, but more the 'lean and mean' type hauling around 10 stone 5 pounds (or a measly 66 kilos for the metrically inclined).
Decked out in an unsightly number 52 jersey, you'd be hard pressed to pick him out of a crowd, if you were so inclined. On a good day, he's worth a small fortune of round about £100k, or so say the folks at Transfermarkt. The Rangers miserly purse strings have got a hold of him for another two years and a bit, with his indenture set to tail off into the sunset on the last day of May 2027.
The 2024-2025 season was notable, I suppose, for our friend Curtis's tepid trotting onto the field in three Premiership forays - one hoofing from the starting block and two in the twilight of the game, no doubt, when the opposition were gasping for a brew. The adventures in the Scottish Cup and the Europa League the same season were no different - a lone canter off the substitute benches in each. Hardly a cause for confetti and marching bands.
