Florian Grillitsch, born on 7 August 1995 (age 30), is an Austrian central defensive midfielder with SC Braga. His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His senior career first took proper shape in Germany with Werder Bremen. The 2016-17 season remains his most productive league campaign, with two goals in 23 appearances, a useful staging post before the move that came to define his career.
That spell was at 1899 Hoffenheim, where Grillitsch became a long-serving and familiar presence rather than a passing name on a squad list. Across seven seasons he made 168 league appearances and scored four league goals, anchoring the sort of career that tends to be valued more inside a club than loudly advertised outside it.
He is now with SC Braga, wearing squad number 27, and remains part of the first-team picture in 2025-26. He has made 20 Liga Portugal appearances, scoring one goal, and has added 10 Europa League appearances with two goals. Across all competitions for Braga this season, he has 30 appearances and three goals.
Grillitsch has also remained involved with Austria, making two World Cup appearances and five appearances in European World Cup qualifying this season. His career is still most strongly associated with Hoffenheim, but he continues to play regular football at a good level with Braga.
