Graham Carey (born 20 May 1989, age 36) is an Irish left-sided attacking player whose senior career began on Celtic’s books before he left for St Mirren in July 2011. It was a sensible move rather than a dramatic one: he needed first-team football, and St Mirren offered a clearer route to it than Celtic could at the time.
Carey later had his most productive league season with Plymouth Argyle in 2016-17, scoring 14 goals in 46 appearances. That spell gave a fairer measure of him as a player: a wide midfielder with delivery, experience and enough goal threat to matter over a long campaign.
In 2025-26, Carey has been with Dunfermline Athletic, making six appearances across all competitions without scoring, including one league appearance, one Championship appearance, four League Cup appearances and one Scottish Cup appearance. He has been out of the matchday squad in recent weeks, with his last appearance coming at the end of November 2025.
He has also won one League Cup elsewhere in his career. His current market value is around £43,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Carey’s career has taken him from Celtic’s fringes into regular senior football, with St Mirren, Plymouth Argyle and Dunfermline forming the main shape of a solid professional path.
