Greg Taylor, born in Greenock on 5 November 1997 (age 28), is a Scotland left-back whose career has been shaped above all by his six seasons at Celtic. His route to Glasgow came through Kilmarnock, with Celtic signing him in September 2019.
He was never the sort of full-back who invited much fuss, which was probably part of the point. Taylor became a regular presence on the left side of the Celtic defence, making 156 league appearances and scoring six league goals. His best league return came in 2022-23, when he scored three times in 31 appearances.
The medals tell the clearer story of his Celtic spell. Taylor won four Premiership titles, three League Cups and two Scottish Cups with the club, as well as finishing runner-up in two Scottish Cups and one Premiership. That is a substantial body of work, even if his contribution was often more functional than flashy.
In July 2025, Taylor left Celtic for PAOK. By the 2025-26 season he had made 15 appearances for the Greek club in all competitions, including 12 in the Super League, one in Europa League qualifying and two in the Europa League proper, without scoring. His market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Taylor’s career now continues in Greece, but his main body of work remains at Celtic: a long-serving left-back, trusted often, decorated heavily, and part of a successful period without ever needing to be dressed up as something he was not.
