Hyunjun Yang, born on 25 May 2002 (age 23), is a South Korean right winger who joined Celtic from Gangwon FC in July 2023 for around £2m. He had already shown end product in the K League, with his best league season coming in 2022, when he scored eight goals in 36 appearances for Gangwon.
At Celtic, Yang has had to earn his place in a squad where wide players tend not to be short of scrutiny. He remains a regular first-team presence in 2025–26, wearing number 13 and contributing across domestic and European football.
His league return this season has been useful: 31 appearances and eight goals. Across all competitions for Celtic in 2025–26, he has made 46 appearances and scored 10 times, including goals in the League Cup and Europa League. He has also featured for South Korea in Asian World Cup qualifying.
His market value is around £2.5m, according to Transfermarkt. Still developing, but no longer just a new arrival finding his bearings, Yang’s Celtic career is now about turning regular involvement into consistent influence.
