Ivan Smolčić, born on 17 August 2000 (age 26), is a Croatian right-back now with Como. His market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Rijeka is where his senior career has taken proper shape. Across three seasons there, Smolčić made 69 league appearances, with his most productive campaign coming in 2024–25, when he scored once in 18 league games. That spell remains the main body of work in his career rather than a footnote before Italy.
At Como in 2026–27, he has made two Serie A appearances and one in the Champions League, giving him three appearances across all competitions for the club. He has also been involved with Croatia this season, appearing once in European World Cup qualifying and once in the Nations League.
Smolčić’s career is still largely anchored in what he did at Rijeka, with Como now the next stage. For now, he is an established Croatian professional trying to turn a clear domestic platform into something more durable in Italy.
