Jack Newman was born in Scotland on 12th February 2002 and is currently a 23-year-old goalkeeper for Dundee United. At a height of 6ft 3in (1.92m) and a weight of 12st 8lb (80kg), he dons the number 13 jersey for the team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is around €150k (£130k), and his contract with Dundee United, set to expire on 31st May 2025, has only one month left to run.
Newman launched his football career in England, joining Sunderland as a trainee in July 2017. Then, in July 2020, Newman transferred from Sunderland to Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership. Despite this promising move, his time at Dundee United during the 2022-2023 season only saw him make four first team appearances in league matches, with no appearances thus far in the 2024-2025 season.
In an effort to gain more experience, in February 2022, Newman went on loan to The Spartans in League Two, Scotland. After returning to Dundee United in June 2022, his first team appearances remained low. To gain more exposure, Newman was loaned to Peterhead in League Two of Scotland in July 2022, where he made five first team appearances in his debut season. Following another return to Dundee United, his playing time remained minimal.
Newman was again loaned out in July 2024, this time to Inverness CT in Scotland's League One. After a brief stint there, he returned to Dundee United in October 2024, but has still yet to make a first team appearance in league matches for the current 2024-2025 season. In a final loan move, Newman was sent to Livingston in the Scottish Championship in January 2025, but was recalled to Dundee United later the same month. Despite these numerous loan moves, Newman has yet to firmly establish his place in Dundee United's first team.
