Jhon Durán, born on 13 December 2003 (age 22), is a Colombian striker with Benfica. His market value is around £30m, according to Transfermarkt, which tells you enough about the level of expectation around him.
Durán’s most productive league campaign so far came with Chicago Fire in 2022, when he scored eight goals in 27 appearances. That season remains the clearest marker of his output at senior level: direct, useful, and still with the sense of a player being worked out rather than fully finished.
At Benfica in 2026-27, he has made six Liga Portugal appearances and scored once. He has also been used in Europe, with four Europa League qualifying appearances and one goal, plus one further Europa League outing. Across all competitions for Benfica, he has 11 appearances and two goals.
Durán’s career is still taking shape: a Colombian centre-forward who made an early impact in Chicago and is now trying to turn promise into regular production at Benfica.
