Joel Ordonez, born on 21 April 2004 (age 22), is an Ecuadorian central defender whose senior career has been shaped almost entirely at Club Brugge. His current market value is around £7.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Brugge is where the substance of his career sits. Across four league seasons, he has made 55 league appearances and scored four league goals, a decent return for a defender still in the early part of his career rather than a finished article being polished for display.
The 2025 – 2026 season has underlined his place in the side. He has made 23 league appearances and scored three times, his most productive league campaign so far. Across all competitions for Club Brugge this season, he has made 53 appearances and scored four goals, including 10 Champions League appearances and 10 in the Pro League play-offs.
He has also remained involved with Ecuador, making three World Cup appearances and eight in South American qualifying this season. Ordonez is still developing, but his career to this point is clear enough: a young Ecuadorian defender established at Club Brugge and still central to their first-team plans.
