Joel van den Berg, born on 11 February 2007 (age 19), is a Dutch centre midfielder whose senior career took shape in the PSV system before Celtic moved for him.
His football to this point is defined mainly by Jong PSV. Across four seasons there, he made 37 league appearances and scored 11 league goals, with 2025-2026 his clearest step forward: seven goals in 26 league appearances. That is the spell that gave his early career most of its substance, rather than any passing mention elsewhere.
Van den Berg was linked with Celtic in August 2026, before joining from PSV in September 2026 for around £3m. His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
He arrives at Celtic as a developing midfielder with a productive Jong PSV spell behind him and plenty still to prove at first-team level.
