Kelechi Iheanacho, born on 3 October 1996 (age 29), is a Nigeria striker who joined Celtic in September 2025. His market value is around £2.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
The main body of his club career was built at Leicester City. Across seven seasons there he made 173 league appearances and scored 35 league goals, with his best league return coming in 2020-2021, when he scored 12 times in 25 appearances. That spell gives his career its shape: long enough to matter, productive enough to remember, but not one that needs dressing up beyond what it was.
His move to Celtic in September 2025 brought him into a side where he has remained involved. In 2025-2026 he has made 13 league appearances and scored five league goals, with further outings in the League Cup, Scottish Cup and Europa League. His Celtic total stands at 23 appearances and eight goals, including two in the Scottish Cup and one in Europe.
He has also stayed in the Nigeria picture, making three World Cup qualifying appearances this season and scoring once. Iheanacho’s career remains anchored by Leicester, but his Celtic spell has so far been that of a regular first-team forward rather than a late-career passenger.
