Killian Phillips, born on the 30th of March 2002, is a force to be reckoned with on the football pitch. The American-born central midfielder is currently making his mark at St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. Phillips' journey into the professional football scene began in earnest in January 2020 when he joined Drogheda United in the Republic of Ireland. Making his mark in his debut season in 2021, Phillips racked up 30 first team appearances and netted the ball twice in league matches. A year later, in January 2022, he made the leap across the Irish Sea, joining Crystal Palace in the English Premier League for an undisclosed fee.
January 2023 saw another shift for Phillips, as he was loaned out to Shrewsbury Town in the English League Two. In August 2024, he was again loaned out by Crystal Palace, this time to St Mirren, also in the Scottish Premiership. He marked his debut season with 35 first team appearances, during which he scored four goals. The following season, 2025-2026, has held steady so far; at the time of writing, Phillips has made 15 first team appearances and scored once.
In July 2025, St Mirren took the move from loan to permanent, transferring Phillips from Crystal Palace to their side. He followed up his successful debut season with another strong performance, playing in 35 first team matches and scoring four goals. Currently, in the 2025 - 2026 season, Phillips continues to be a key player for St Mirren, where he has already made 15 first team appearances and scored once.
Phillips' prowess is not just restricted to league football. He has made his mark in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren, where he scored an impressive four goals in seven starts. Even on the international stage, in the World Cup Qualifiers Europe 2024 - 2026, Phillips managed to get some time on the pitch for the Republic of Ireland, making one appearance as a substitute.
