Lewis Ferguson, born on 24 August 1999 (age 27), is a Scotland midfielder now with Bologna, where he wears number 19. Primarily a centre midfielder, he has built his reputation on steady influence rather than fuss, which is not the worst starting point for a player operating in the middle of the park.
His most productive league season came with Aberdeen in 2021-22, when he scored 11 goals in 36 appearances. That return marked him out as more than a functional domestic midfielder, and his move to Bologna gave him a more demanding stage in Serie A.
At Bologna in 2026-27, Ferguson has made five Serie A appearances and two in the Supercoppa, seven in all competitions. His current market value is around £15.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
He has also remained part of the Scotland picture. This season he has made three World Cup appearances, five in European World Cup qualifying, scoring once, and two in the Nations League.
Ferguson’s career has moved from a strong Scottish Premiership spell at Aberdeen to regular involvement in Italy with Bologna and continued international duty with Scotland. It is a solid, upward path, built without much theatre.
