Lewis Morgan, born in Greenock on 30 September 1996 (age 29), is a Scottish left winger now with Toronto FC. He first built his senior reputation at St Mirren, where early first-team football and loan experience helped move him on from promising youngster to a player Celtic were prepared to buy.
Celtic signed him from St Mirren in January 2018 for around £300,000. His time in Glasgow was not a long one, and he remained on the fringes rather than becoming a settled Celtic player. In January 2020 he left for Inter Miami in a deal worth around £360,000.
The move to the United States gave Morgan a more regular platform. After Inter Miami he had spells with New York Red Bulls, San Diego FC and Toronto FC. His best league return came with New York Red Bulls in 2022, when he scored 14 goals in 32 appearances.
At Toronto FC, Morgan has made 16 MLS appearances and 16 in all competitions, without a goal. His career has taken him from St Mirren to Celtic and then through several North American clubs, with his most productive spell coming in New York.
