Marco Tilio (born 23 August 2001, age 25) is an Australian right winger from Hurstville, New South Wales. A compact 5ft 7in (1.70m) forward, his career has been shaped far more by Melbourne City than by the moves around it.
Across five seasons with Melbourne City, Tilio has made 88 league appearances and scored 20 league goals. His best league return came in 2022-23, with nine goals in 26 appearances, which was enough to make Celtic’s interest perfectly understandable.
Celtic signed him from Melbourne City in July 2023 for around £1m. It was a move with a clear idea behind it: a young wide player with pace, balance and some end product. The Celtic spell, though, sat between the more substantial Melbourne City work and his next move abroad.
In August 2025, Tilio left Celtic for Rapid Vienna for around £1.5m. Wearing number 23, he has made seven Bundesliga appearances and scored one goal in 2026-27, along with two Europa play-off appearances and five Conference League qualifying appearances, where he also scored once. Across all competitions for Rapid Vienna, he has 14 appearances and two goals.
His market value is around £680,000, according to Transfermarkt. Tilio’s career remains straightforward enough: Melbourne City carries the main body of work, Celtic was the significant Scottish move, and Rapid Vienna is the current European chapter.
