Martin Boyle, born on the 25th of April 1993, hails from Scotland. This forward, who plays primarily as a right winger for Hibernian, stands at 5ft 10in (1.78m) and carries a weight of 11st (70kg). He wears jersey number 10 and has also represented the Australian national team.
Boyle began his football journey in July 2009 as a trainee at Montrose in the Scottish League One. During his debut season (2009-2010), he made five first team appearances. The following years saw a substantial increase in his involvement with 23 first team appearances in 2010 - 2011, 36 appearances in 2011 - 2012, and 15 appearances in the 2012 - 2013 season. His goal scoring also improved over time, notching three in 2010 - 2011, twenty-two in 2011 - 2012 and nine in 2012 - 2013.
In August 2012, Boyle transferred to Dundee in the Premiership for an undisclosed fee. He made nine first team appearances in the following season (2012 - 2013). In the next season, he managed to bag four goals in his 29 appearances. His playing time dipped slightly in the 2014 - 2015 season, seeing him make 18 appearances.
Interestingly, Boyle was loaned back to Montrose from Dundee in the Premiership in January 2013. His performances echoed his previous stint at Montrose, with a multitude of appearances and a strong goal tally. Following the completion of his loan, Boyle returned to Dundee in May 2013.
His journey with Hibernian began in January 2015 as he was loaned out from Dundee. His time in the 2014 - 2015 season at Hibernian saw him make 17 first team appearances and score three goals. Boyle's contributions continued as he made the permanent switch in July 2015. He consistently performed across multiple seasons, with the 2024 - 2025 season standing out in which he scored 15 goals in 36 appearances. Currently, in the 2025 - 2026 season, Boyle has made 16 starts and scored four goals.
In a surprising twist, Boyle transferred from Hibernian to Al-Faisaly in the Saudi Arabian First Division in January 2022, for a fee of around £3m. His stint in Saudi Arabia was brief, as he returned to Hibernian in August 2022.
Apart from his club duties, Boyle has also contributed to Hibernian's League Cup 2025 - 2026 campaign, Australia's World Cup qualifiers (2024 - 2026), Hibernian's Europa League qualifiers (2025 - 2026) and Conference League qualifiers (2025 - 2026). He scored a combined total of five goals in these competitions.
