Martin Erlić is a Croatian central defender, born on 24 January 1998 (age 28), now with FC Midtjylland. At 6ft 4in (1.92m), he is an imposing presence at the back, the sort of defender whose basic profile does not require much dressing up.
His most productive league season came at Spezia in 2020-21, when he scored three goals in 27 appearances. That remains the clearest marker of his Serie A spell: regular football, a useful threat from set-pieces, and a defender doing enough work to be noticed without needing much theatre around it.
At Midtjylland in 2026-27, Erlić has made 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring once. Six of those have come in the Superliga, with two more in Europa League qualifying and two in Conference League qualifying. He has also scored once for Croatia in one World Cup qualifying appearance this season.
His current market value is around £3.5m, according to Transfermarkt. Erlić’s career so far is that of an established centre-half with top-flight experience in Italy, a current role in Denmark, and continuing involvement with Croatia.
