Max Kucheriavyi, born on 9 May 2002 in Ukraine, wears the notable number 17 jersey for St Johnstone. This forward, primarily taking the position of a right winger, stands at 5ft 6in (1.69m) and carries a weight of 10st 3lb (65kg). As of today, at the age of 22, he has made his mark in Scottish football.
In the brisk winter month of January 2021, Kucheriavyi first set foot in the Premiership, joining Scotland's St Johnstone. His debut season of 2022 - 2023 saw him grace the field on four separate occasions in league matches alone for St Johnstone. The following season, 2023 - 2024, Kucheriavyi sported the St Johnstone jersey in 28 first team appearances and etched his name into the record books by scoring two goals. Continuing his journey in the current season of 2024 - 2025, Kucheriavyi has made four first team appearances in league matches for St Johnstone.
Our lad did not while away his time in St Johnstone alone. A chapter of his career unfolded at Brechin City in the Highland League, where he was loaned out to in July 2021 from St Johnstone. Not ending his wanderlust there, Kucheriavyi was again loaned out in February 2022, this time dropping anchor at Kelty Hearts in League One. Come June 2022, Kucheriavyi shed his borrowed feathers and returned to St Johnstone upon completion of his loan.
Yet again, in February 2023, he was handed the opportunity to taste the rigour of the Championship. Kucheriavyi was loaned out from St Johnstone to Falkirk, where he added another four first team appearances and even scored a goal in league matches in the season of 2022 - 2023. Kucheriavyi then made his return to St Johnstone in June 2023, concluding his journey at Falkirk.
In the League Cup 2024 - 2025, Kucheriavyi made two appearances for St Johnstone as a substitute. His career may be young still, and his endeavours spread across several clubs, but his passion to forge ahead, both for his current club and in his own career, remains as strong as ever.
