Michel-Ange Balikwisha, born on 10 May 2001 (age 25), made his early senior mark at Standard Liege. His most productive league season came there in 2020-2021, when he scored seven times in 26 appearances.
His career, though, has been shaped far more by Royal Antwerp. Across five seasons he made 85 league appearances and scored 16 goals, establishing himself as a left-sided attacker with enough end product to move beyond being just another tidy Belgian league wide player.
Celtic brought him in from Royal Antwerp in August 2025. His early spell in Glasgow has been modest rather than dramatic: seven league appearances without a goal in 2025-2026, with solid form when used but no recent place in the matchday squad. His last Celtic appearance came in the 0-3 defeat to Roma on 11 December 2025.
He has since had a loan spell back at Royal Antwerp, making four league appearances and scoring once. His current market value is around £3.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Balikwisha remains a developing winger whose senior career has been built mainly in Belgium, with Royal Antwerp still the clearest thread through it. Celtic is the next test, but so far it has been a limited one.
