The march of Nathan Moriah-Welsh's football career has been sharp and laddered. Born in England on 18 March 2002, the midfielder now mainly plies his trade in the engine room of Hibernian's midfield, where he puts on the number 22 jersey. Moriah-Welsh stands a respectable 5ft 8in tall (1.75m) and tips the scales at a sturdy 11st (70kg).
The 23-year-old began to hone his professional footballing skills when he joined Premier League club Bournemouth as a trainee in July 2018. He took his talents further afield in August 2022, when he joined Newport County in England's League Two for a loan stint. An impressive debut season ensued in 2022-2023, where the empowered midfielder chalked up 28 first-team appearances and netted three goals in league matches.
Upon serving his loan period, Moriah-Welsh returned to Bournemouth in June 2023. His progress didn't go unnoticed, as the Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian swooped him from Bournemouth in January 2024. The transfer fee remains undisclosed to this day.
Despite the shift, Moriah-Welsh’s performance remained strong. He went on to make 14 first team appearances for Hibs in the 2023-2024 season. The current season (2024-2025) has seen him maintain his impressive league form, making 16 appearances so far for the green and white side of Edinburgh.
Moriah-Welsh has also distinguished himself in cup competitions. In the 2024-2025 League Cup, he scored a goal in five games (three starts, two substitute appearances), and has graced the Scottish Cup with his presence for two games, one as a starter and one as a substitute.
