Born in Scotland on 19 September 1996, Nicky Cadden is a steadfast defender, chiefly deployed as a left back for Hibernian. He stands 1.73 metres (5 feet 8 inches) tall and tips the scales at 74 kilograms (11 stone 9 pounds). He currently dons the number 19 jersey.
Tracing his footballing trajectory, Cadden started his senior career with Airdrieonians in Scotland's Championship in July 2013. His initial 2013 - 2014 season with Airdrieonians was moderately fruitful as he made 12 appearances in league matches. The subsequent season saw him appearing less frequently on the pitch with only four first-team inclusions. However, he rebounded in 2015 - 2016, making 24 appearances and opening his scoring tally with three goals.
In July 2016, Cadden transferred to Livingston, another Championship side in Scotland. The move proved successful as he put up consistent performances, making 34 first-team appearances and scoring six goals in the 2016 - 2017 season. His game time remained consistent across the next two seasons too, punctuated with 12 appearances each in the 2017 - 2018 and 2018 - 2019 terms.
January 2019 saw Cadden switch to Ayr United on loan, after which he joined Greenock Morton in July 2019. His stint with Greenock Morton was reasonably short-lived as within a year, he signed with England's Forest Green Rovers in the National League. The transfer fee was undisclosed.
In 2022, Cadden ventured further into the English football circuit when he joined Barnsley in League One. Cadden's stint at Barnsley was marked by increased game time - he made 26 appearances and netted three goals during the 2022 - 2023 season.
By August 2024, Cadden had returned to Scotland to ply his trade with Hibernian in the Premiership. In the current 2024 - 2025 season, he has remained a constant feature of the Hibees' lineup, contributing with 27 first team appearances and five goals in league matches. His performances also earned him chances in domestic cup competitions - he had one substitute appearance in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 and two starts in the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025.
