Nicky Clark, our somewhat-average striker was born on 3 June 1991, making him a delightful 33 years of age. He hails from Scotland and now, for reasons only he can truly understand, plays for St Johnstone. Certainly not a giant of a man, Clark stands at 1.8m (5ft 10in) and weighs 67kg (10st 7lb). He's currently the lucky holder of the number 10 jersey.
According to the chaps at Transfermarkt, Clark's current market value is in the region of €150k, that's about £128k in real money. His contract with St Johnstone is ready to expire on May 31, 2025.
Those were the days when Clark, as a rather eager trainee, joined Aberdeen in the Premiership back in July 2008. But the grass was greener elsewhere, or perhaps just the wages were better, so he made his merry way to Peterhead in September 2009.
At Peterhead, he showed a certain flair for, well, turning up. He made 23 and 24 appearances in his first two seasons respectively, racking up a grand total of eight goals. After three seasons, Clark swapped clubs again joining Queen of the South in July 2011. The 2012 - 2013 season saw Clark enjoy his highest scoring season yet with 32 league goals from 36 appearances.
Inevitably, with another July came another move, this time to Rangers. But let's not dwell on those seasons. Suffice to say, he played some games, he scored some goals. It was grand. Or at least some semblance of grand.
Then, in a moment of pure, unadulterated surprise (or perhaps it was grave miscalculation), Bury in the down-and-out English Lower Leagues acquired Clark. Alas, it was a fleeting affair with three, yes three, appearances. Perhaps they saw the light, or maybe they just watched Clark play. Either way, by August 2016, he found himself with Dunfermline Athletic back in the Scottish Championship. He spent two seasons there, doing his usual thing of hitting the back of the net occasionally.
In July 2018, Clark ended up with Dundee United in the Premiership. Things went about as well as one can reasonably expect, with Clark even managing to play the odd game of football. Still, the allure of St Johnstone was apparently too strong. And so, with the spirit of a nomad, Clark removed himself from Dundee United to St Johnstone in August 2022. The fee as they say is 'undisclosed' though I cannot profess to care.
Clark has had some interesting times with St Johnstone, scoring a commendable number of goals and managing to run about a bit. He even managed a frugal run out in the League and Scottish Cup. Spellbinding stuff.
