Odilon Kossounou, born on 4 January 2001 (age 25), is an Ivory Coast central defender with Atalanta. A tall, rangy centre-half at 6ft 3in (1.91m), he wears the number 3 shirt and is valued at around £25.5m by Transfermarkt.
His most productive league season came with Club Brugge in 2020-21, when he made 27 appearances and scored once. That spell gave him a proper senior platform before his career moved on to Italy, where Atalanta have used him as part of their defensive group rather than as a headline act.
In 2026-27, Kossounou has made four Serie A appearances and two in Conference League qualifying for Atalanta. He has also remained involved with Ivory Coast, with four World Cup appearances and three in African qualifying this season.
Kossounou’s career is still taking shape: Club Brugge gave him his breakthrough, Atalanta are now the main club stage, and Ivory Coast remain a steady part of the picture.
