Owen Wijndal, born on 28 November 1999 (age 26), is a Dutch left-back with Ajax. His current market value is around £3m, according to Transfermarkt.
His early senior grounding came with Jong AZ, where the 2017-18 league season was his most productive in front of goal: two goals in 16 appearances. It was not a spectacular return, nor did it need to be. For a young full-back, the value was in regular football and learning the job away from the softer promises usually attached to academy players.
Wijndal is now part of Ajax’s first-team picture, mainly on the left side of defence. In 2026-27 he has made two Eredivisie appearances, along with two KNVB Beker games, where he scored once, and five Conference League qualifying appearances, also with one goal.
Across all competitions for Ajax that season, he has made nine appearances and scored two goals. His career to this point has been a steady Dutch route: development football at Jong AZ, then the larger stage at Ajax, with his role still centred on the demands of modern full-back play rather than any great mystery.
