Shaun Rooney, a Scotsman born on July 26, 1996, is a defender predominately comfortable as a right back. At an impressive height of 1.91m (6ft 3in), and weight of 81kg (12st 10lb), Rooney stands as a formidable presence on the field.
His early ventures into professional football saw him kick-start his career at Queen's Park in Scotland’s Championship in July 2013. He had a slow but steady start to his career making eight first team appearances in league matches in his debut season 2013 - 2014. He continued to establish himself in season 2014 - 2015 at Queen's Park, where he made 24 appearances and netted four goals.
In August 2015, Rooney saw a smooth transfer from Queen's Park to Dunfermline Athletic, a fellow Championship side in Scotland. During his season at Dunfermline, Rooney kept the pace going with ten first team appearances and a goal to his name.
The season 2016 – 2017 marked Rooney’s footsteps into England where he transferred from Dunfermline to York City in the National League for an undisclosed fee. He was quite impressive on this English stage as well, with 30 first team appearances and a goal in the league matches.

By July 2024, Rooney had returned to Scottish soil, transferring from Fleetwood Town to St Mirren in the Premiership where he has made six first team appearances in the current 2024 - 2025 season. October 2024 saw another transfer for Rooney, the full details of which remain unclear at this stage.
