Mariano Gómez, born on 5 February 1999 (age 27), is an Argentine central defender with Ferencvaros. At 6ft 6in (1.97m), he is an imposing presence, and the number 4 shirt rather suits the job description.
His most productive league season came with Algeciras in 2021-22, when he scored three goals in 34 appearances. For a centre-half, that is a useful return rather than a headline act, but it gives a fair sense of a defender capable of contributing at set-pieces as well as doing the basic work.
At Ferencvaros, Gómez has been involved across domestic and European football. In 2026-27 he has made six Nemzeti Bajnokság I appearances, scoring twice, alongside seven Europa League qualifying appearances and one in the Europa League proper. Across all competitions for the club, he has 14 appearances and two goals.
Gómez’s career so far has taken him from Argentina into the European game, with Algeciras providing a clear marker season and Ferencvaros giving him regular exposure at a higher level. He remains a tall, orthodox central defender building a solid professional record.
