Matúš Bero (born 6 September 1995, age 31) is a Slovak midfielder, primarily used in central midfield, and is currently with Ferencvaros, wearing squad number 22.
His sharpest league return came early in his career with AS Trenčín. In 2015-16 he scored 15 goals in 30 league appearances, a strong output from midfield and the kind of season that tends to move a player beyond domestic promise.
At Ferencvaros in 2026-27, Bero has made one Nemzeti Bajnokság I appearance. He has also remained involved with Slovakia, making seven appearances in World Cup qualifying, which points to a player still trusted at international level even as the club season takes shape.
Bero’s career has been built around central midfield work, a notable scoring season at Trenčín, and continued senior involvement for Slovakia. He is an established player rather than a headline act, which is usually no bad thing.
